<dc:title>Album of photographs and copy-letters relating to Sarah Kenrick and Ralph Eddowes</dc:title>
<dc:description>Including photographs of minatures, silhouettes, etc, of : the said S K and R E; the Rev. John Kenrick and Mrs Kenrick; John Eddowes, son of R E and his wife Sarah; Stapeley, built by R E circa 1790 At Foxchase, a suburb of Philadelphia; Wrexham Church (from a pen-and-ink drawing on satin); and Galena, Illinois, as it was when John Eddowes settled there with his family. Copy letters are : Ralph's letter of proposal to Sarah (undated); Sarah's acceptance (undated); letter to Rebecca Eddowes (dated 13 March 1871) grand-daughter of Ralph and Sarah, from her cousin Lucy Boult in Liverpool, relating the incident which led Ralph to go to America. It seems that he brought a law suit against Chester Corporation alleging the illegality of the mode of election of aldermen; this he lost; he took it to the House of Lords, and "gained his cause but lost his money"; erstwhile supporters deserted him, but surreptitiously commissioned for him a silver vase and cup, which he refused. </dc:description>
