<dc:title>Volume containing philosophical poems in English and Catalogue of James Quarrell</dc:title>
<dc:description>A. Philosophical Poems in English (some after John Quarrell) and discourses in Latin, by James Quarrell, c. 1680 - 1684. In a different, italic, hand of the late 17th century (probably that of Timothy Quarrell, whose signature appears on the flyleaf), there follows poems based on scriptural texts (some probably composed by John Quarrel); various epitaph poems; translations of Latin Poems into English verse; a verse dialogue between Christ and the world; etc. In a third hand of the early 18th century, there follows transcriptions of sermons (of Orton, Bolt, Fowns etc.)

B. Catalogue of James Quarrell's Books, in his hand; sequence of folios marked off alphabetically in Latin (Actas, Amor, Animus, Arrogantia, etc) with maxims and epigrams; further continuation of sermon transcriptions as above.</dc:description>
