Teitl | Bargain and sale between Henry, son of the late William Williams of Cochwillan, and Evan Lloyd of Barnard's Inn in London; H.W. conveys certain lands in commote Creuddyn, which were purchased by his father from Sir William Herbert of St. Julian's in co. Monmouth, who in turn had married one of the three co-heiresses of Edward Griffith of Penrhyn [brother of Sir Rees G, and uncle of Piers] Consideration, £100. |
AdminHistory | Leading up to this documents was a bond in £60 (26 November 1611) and an indenture (1 February 1611-1612) which tend to show that W.W. the father had mortgaged the premises to a William Chamberlain of Beaulieu, whose son had assigned it to Evan Lloyd. So it appears that the father was in some cases responsible for the defaults of his feckless son. |
