Teitl"Mortgage in fee by Mrs Kendrick, Mrs Warburton and Mr Bennett to Thomas Gisborne, esq., of the Mannor of Winnington, Winnington Hall, and two Third Parts of the Demesne Lands for the Security of £1,500, with interest at £5 per cent". (17 July, 1732).
Dyddiad17 July 1732
Extent2
AdminHistory"Mrs. Warburton" was Mary, widow of George Warburton, presumably a brother of General Hugh Warburton [Ormerof in the Hist.Cheshire,II,204 has no reference whatsoever to George Warburton, who undoubtedly held the Winnington estate for a period, and made his will on 29 Aug., 1727]. An echo of G.W.'s commitments, described as made on 2 & 3 June, 1722, is found in a doct. of 9 June, 1759, which is a counterpart of a deed of security given by General Warburton to Mrs. Yonge [Jane Yonge, the spinster sister of Sir William Yonge, and so first cousin to the general] for £2,000 and interest. The 1722 transaction of G.W. had brought the estate into considerable embarrassment.
