Teitl1808 - 15 papers.
DisgrifiadThe first five (1490-1494) give meticulous details about the commodities decreed necessary for upkeep during the year, about the likely number of canes to be cut, and about the number of slaves, amount of stock, &c. on the Clarendon and King's valley plantations. Several letters from Mr. Ewart of Westmoreland Estate were addressed to Lord Penrhyn ignorant of the fact that he had died on January 21. The news seems to have been unduly long reaching Mr. Fearon as his letter of condolence to Mr.Dawkins Pennant was dated as late as July 9. Ewart was nor slow in recpgnising the new succession: he sent a Jamaican turtle to G.H.D.P. on 20 April, but it did not reach London till August.
