TeitlLetter to Benjamin Wyatt from David Wllis of Gwynfryn by Llanystumdwy (3 Novr.,1803).
DisgrifiadHas perused leases submitted to him, and has noticed the rather unusual clause for re-possession by the lessor upon giving a year's notice. "Such a clause would not have been consistent in a Lease for Lives, an Interest which must necessarily subsist independent of the Will of the Lessor; but I feel assured there can exist no legal objection to it in a Lease for Years".
Dyddiad3 November 1803

AdminHistoryEllis was son to Richard Ellis, vicar of Clynnog, and Catherine Nanney of the family of Cefndeuddwr, and left of the Gwynfryn-Nanney estate to his nephew O.J. Ellis Nanney (Pedigrees, 164). D.E. was an eminent lawyer, Attorney General for North Wales under the old Sessions system, and when asked his opinion on difficult matters of interpretation (as he very often was), gave judgements which are models of exactness and lucidity.
