Disgrifiadof H[enry] Towneshend Elis Price, Jo.' Yerewarth and Thomas Wyne, officers and commissioners of the Rt. Hon. The Earl of Leicester that at an "Inquisicion"… "for the feyndinge and enquire of incrochementes made of and upon the Queens Majesty's forest of Snowdon" held about ten years ago it was found and recorded in the books and surveys of the said Earl that Robert Gwyn esq. has encroached upon and enclosed one frith, parcel of the said forest, adjoining the lands of Sir Rees Gruffith, knight called Gwyn Valogwyn and Ithyn y Mayn.

Appended : Letter (dated August 6, 1592) from Thomas Mostyn to the Rt. Hon. Henry Earl of Pembrock, President of the Council of the Marches of Wales and other members of the Council. The writers refer to a suit pending between Piers Gruff of Penrhyn and Cowillan and state that the lands mentioned in the survey were granted to the Earl of Leicester in 1575-6
