The Earl of Leicester that at an "Inquisicion"… "for the feyndinge and enquire of incrochementes made of and upon the Queens Majesty's forest of Snowdon" held about ten years ago it was found and recorded in the books and surveys of the said Earl that Robert Gwyn esq. has encroached upon and enclosed one frith, parcel of the said forest, adjoining the lands of Sir Rees Gruffith, knight called Gwyn Valogwyn and Ithyn y Mayn.
