There is a letter addressed to G.H.D Pennant, Esq., dated 06 March 1826 from the Carnarvon Bank regarding accepting the notes of Messrs. Back, Dodson & Co., of the Shrewsbury & Welshpool Bank, and this is followed by a notice stating this fact. There is also a letter dated 09 June 1815 addressed to Messrs Austen Maundie & Co. regarding the purchase of £8000 bonds for G.H.D. Pennant, Esq. Following these are many documents relating to slate sales. There are documents with ‘Slate Sales Invoice Account’ for March 1969, January 1870, March 1970, June 1870, September 1870 and November 1870. These documents contain details such as the merchants’ names and residence, the tons, cwt and amount of slate purchased, storage, freights, insurance, extra charges and totals. There are also documents titled. ‘Particulars of Slate Sold’ for January 1869, January 1870, March 1870, August 1870, November 1870 and July 1875. There are also documents relating to Lord Penrhyn’s Bank Account. Such as his bank account with Messrs Williams & Co, Bangor for the dates March 1869, January 1870, April 1870, May 1870, November 1870 and September 1875. There are also details for the bank account with Messrs. Ransom Bouverie & Co, London for July 1870. The details included in these bank account documents are things such as the charges, bills, cash, date, bills received that month and when they were due. At the end of this bundle is a document with the ‘Slate Factory Account’ between 01-15 December 1859. This includes the names of workmen, the work they carried out and for what rate and the amount owed to them. |
