Disgrifiad | This folder mainly contains the correspondence between Lady Janet Douglas Pennant and Dr. Jean Lindsay discussing the publication of ‘The Great Strike’ written by Dr.Jean Lindsay, the publishing and printing of the material as well as general conversations.There are many letters addressed to Lady Janet Douglas Pennant from various individuals giving thanks for the copy of ‘The Great Strike’ that was sent to them. There are also letters between Mr J.C.Douglas Pennant and Lady Janet Douglas Pennant and David and Charles (Holdings) Limited relating to the cost of publishing and a copy of agreement for the publication. Documents included in this bundle are a booklet, ‘The Pennants and Jamaica 1665-1808 by Jean Lindsay, reprinted from the Transactions of the Caernarvonshire Historical Society 1983. There is a magazine, ‘Home and Garden Incorporating Wine and Food Magazine’ December 1985 with an article called ‘A passion for the Dramatic: Neil Burton tells the story of Penrhyn Castle, rebuilt in the rugged new-Norman style by Thomas Hopper in 1822’ on page 120. There is also a document called ‘Parliamentary debates House of Lords Official Report, Vol.559 No.6, Monday 18 November 1994 and a copy of The Chronicle April 04, 1952 with an article ‘Penrhyn Castle Opened to the Public’. |
