They asserted that the union was in existence at the Penrhyn Quarry despite Mr. Smith's assurance that such was not the case. The men went on to state that it was well known to be in existence, and also in Ffestiniog. Wyatt writes to say that the men are forced to reveal their real objectives, which are political. Mr. Smith will work his quarry on union principles if the proprietors do not object. |
