TeitlCopy Letter from Lord Penrhyn at Mortimer House, Halkin Street to John Francis.
DisgrifiadSends a letter of accusation against the 5 overlookers, in order that Francis might find out who the author is who signs himself John Jones. If, after investigation Francis finds that the wages paid are lower than in other quarries then he suggests that they are raised immediately. Advises that there should be no gap between the letting day and reference of any questions to Penrhyn as this would be a time of idleness and bad feelings would be fostered and encouraged by agitators. Lord Penrhyn is not responsible for newspaper articles, but they were put in to cause trouble.
