TitlePenrhyn Ledger. The flyleaf bears the following inscription: "This leidger [sic.] together with a large Folio Rentall covered with green vellum was designed as a pattern or president for the stewards of Penrhyn Estate - to be always open to ye view and examination of Sir Wm. Yonge and Mrs. Warburton that they might at all times see how the Account stood at and particular period; and thereby that they might check ye Steward who heretofore had made false Entries and enriched himself to an high degree - General Warbuton desired to have ye Green Rental, And the last time I saw that worthy Gentleman, my particular friend, at Rath (? the script is difficult to read at this point) in anno 1768, I promised that he should have this Leidger also. He proposed, in this road to Penrhyn, to stay with me some days at Havod. But alas! he never came! And now I wish Mr. Pennant to have the Book, if my wife shall have any opportunity after my decease to send it either to Winnington near Northwich in Choshire - or to Penrhyn in Caernarvonshire.
