TitleLast will and testament of Sir Rees Griffith of Penrhyn.
DescriptionBequeaths lands and tenements specified to son William for the term of his natural life; after his decease, to his son Piers and his heirs. Particular commands for re-edifying the walls, windows and roof of the parish church of Llandegai and the provision of three new, competent, and sufficient bells. The ancient and decayed bridge of Llandegai to be placed in proper condition. His [third] wife, Dame Katherine [daugher of Piers Mostyn of Talacre] to be executrix; overseers of the will named and appointed, with Dr Roland [Thomas], Dean of Bangor, in the forefront. At the end he remembers his poor servant, Rhys Gethin Goch, who is to continue holding his tenement for the rest of his natural life. Then follows his autograph "by me Reese Gruffyth."
