TitleDeed by Owen Owens of Henllys, co. Anglesey, to levy a fine at the Great Sessions of Denbigh to the use and behoof of Griffith Williams of Conway, son of Robert Williams, deceased. upon lands in Erithlyn and Escorebrill in that county.
Date15 October 1613
Extent1
AdminHistoryImportant family references: Robert W. was son to Edmund W. of Conway, and so full brother of Archbishop John Williams; Griffith was the later Sir Griffith W. of Penrhyn; it remains to note the serious mistake of pedigrees, 186, in saying that this Rober W. was M.P. for Caernarvonshire in 1656, in face of the fact that Robert was dead before the date of this doct. of 1613 (the M.P. was Robert Williams, son of Sir Griffith). References too to Owen ap John Owen and Jeffrey Owen, grandfather and father respectively of Owen Owens of Henllys. The dorse has "9James I", but the word in the second line of the doct. itself is undoubtedly "eleaventh".
