AdminHistoryAnne Beake, named as one of the attorned tenants, must be a mistake for Peake, once a numerous family both in Caernarvon and Conway. In every case, the entry is made "in the name of that [particular tenement] and all other the lands lately held by Sir William Harbert [Herbert] of Swansey". Sir William H. had married Catherine, one of the three co-heiresses of Edward Griffith of Penrhyn, uncle of Piers G. As Herbert is said (by the various pedigrees) to have lived till 1610, it is not altogether easy to account for this entry of 1609 and the word "lately". Cp.doct.212, for similar "entries" in the township of Cororion.
