| Description | As the last of the three lives seem in course of nature to draw to an end, doubts arose regarding the validity of the original release in face of 1 Eliz., c.19, and the all-important point whether the deed of 1802 implied the surrender of the lease of 1786. The full case was submitted to two eminent counsel, W. Day and James Parker: the former (10 March, 1841) states that Bishop Warren had overstepped his powers, and that there was no sufficient remedy for the difficulties arising without an Act of Parliament, while Pakrer (26 Nov., 1850) takes refuge in the intricacies of the Statutes of Limitations. |
