TitleDeed of lease (1 Sept/. 1768) by Lieut.-General Hugh Warburton of Penrhyn and John Pennant of London [father of Richard, Lord Penrhyn] to Richard Hughes of Bodrwyn [Cerrig Ceinwen, co.Anglesey] upon the Penrhyn demense lands, of which a long list of fields and closes is given, but excepting oout of the lease land and wood accounting to 48 acres which H.W. and J.P. "might inclose whenever they shall think proper to do so and keep inclosed", and excepting also all timber, mines, quarries, &c.21 years, at £78 a year.

AdminHistoryRichard Hughes was an eminently interesting person: member of the old Anglesey family of Tre'rdriw (Pedigrees, 139), husband of one of the "Seven Pretty Peggies", agent of the Penrhyn lands, and responsible for many letters and accounts in this collection, all in clear script and lucid style.
