TitleLetters and "accounts current" (1794-1802).
DescriptionThe former are to Richard, Lord Penrhyn, from Wigston the agent and a Londoner named John Davis, and deal almost exclusively with matters of finance. Apart from money questions are Wigston's report that he has bought the two Irish lottery tickets for His Lordship, and wishes him every success with them (Nov.4,1794); sugar market brisk (same letter). Several allusions to the war with France and its reaction upon trade captured (Jan.1, 1798); before that had been jubilation at Admiral Duncan's victory at Camperdown (letter of Oct.13,1797). Six accounts-current (1294-1299), for the years 1797-1802. 23 papers.
