Description | The particular Henry is not mentioned, and the dorse is in doubt between henry VI (ink) and Henry VIII (pencil). The script bears such close resemblance to that of the rental for 1488 (doct.1602) that it is much more probable to be that for 16 Henry VII, i.e., 1500. This later date is supported also by the references to William ap Griffith ap Robin [of Cochwillan], a gentleman who fought at Bosworth, and a great figure in co. Caernarvon in the reign of Henry VII. Note: This doct, is not so much a rental, as a form of general account [for Cororion only]. Matthew ap Robert was the "collector". |
