Description | Much of the script is badly faded. The contents show that the interests of the estate and the quay were now under separate management. The most important fact occurs at p.463, the last entry in the hand of the old agent James Wyatt who had followed his father Benjamin in 1818. The new agent was Capt. Pennant Athelwold Iremonger, a grandson of Margaret Lloyd of Pentr Hobyn by her marriage with Rice Thomas of Coed Helen [properly, Alun] by Caernarvon. Their daughter Pennant had married Col. William Iremonger of Wherwell Priory in Hants. P.A. Iremonger was their son. In 1872 he inherited the bulk of his grandmother's estate and took the name Lloyd (see the transition on pp.81-82 of Book "7"). As Pennant Lloyd he was for many years very closely associated with the Penrhyn interests. |
