DescriptionThis includes a bundle of various envelopes with correspondence relating to cases brought before the Welsh Land Commission. There are letters discussing the evidence of Mr Lowray and Dr E. Pan Jones and there are also printed material with details of the evidence and cross examination included. The views of Dr. E. Pan Jones on landlordism is discussed in detail and Lord Penrhyn and poaching from his river. Also there are articles included such as ‘Pathetic Knowledge’ from the Carnarvon and Denbigh Herald of 20 October 1893’, where Lord Penrhyn is accused of believing gossip by stating Dr Pan Jones lived in Bethesda. Lord Penrhyn gives his own opinion on this matter with handwritten notes next to this article. There are also two articles included from ‘Y Celt’, titled, ‘ The Best Way for the Farmer in Wales to Succeed in Face of Present Trade Depression’, dated 06 May 1892 and ‘Following Gladstone’, dated 20 May 1892.
