Description | This newspaper contains an article called, ‘Roofing the British Home Since Elizabethan Times: The Great Penrhyn Slate Quarry. Probably the Largest Single Quarry in the World: Majestic Penrhyn, in North Wales’ which contains the drawings by Miss M.E.Thompson from the quarry and individuals working on various stages of the slate processing. These drawings were from part of an exhibition staged at the Geological Survey and Museum, South Kensington. Attached to the front of the paper is a note by J C D Pennant who notes the article and states he remembers ‘her well by sight: a tiny figure with drawing equipment’. |
