TitleNewspaper cuttings discussing the ‘Great Quarry Strike’ of 1896-7
DescriptionOne envelope containing 134 newspaper cuttings which detail the ‘Great Quarry Strike’ of 1896-7 and how people at the time felt about it. Many of these cuttings discuss the rights of the men, and whether Lord Penrhyn’s actions are right or wrong, most agreeing that his ideas were outdated and wrong. The articles appear to be in agreement that Lord Penrhyn closing the quarries was uncalled for, therefore the quarrymen deserve all the sympathy they have received from the public.
