DescriptionIncludes letters addressed to Lord Penrhyn and between correspondents such as: H. J. Ellis Nanney, Lord Kenyon, Lord Waldesgrave. Lord Penrhyn, Watkin Williams, Fitzroy Stewart, Penrhyn, E. W. Duff Assheton Smith, Henry Platt, J. W. James, William E. Sackville West and The Duke of Westminster. Includes discussions and results of various meetings relating to the vacant slot for the general election of the county of Carnarvon and suitable candidates to fill vacancy. Lord Penrhyn is asked his views on a suitable conservative candidate. Many letters relate to Lord Penrhyn’s financial assistance for political funds of which Lord Penrhyn agrees to give towards the Welsh electioneering fund of the Duke of Westminster. Additionally included are receipts of the cheques received from Lord Penrhyn, notes in the hand of Lord Penrhyn relating to these expenses with figures and calculations. There are also newspaper cuttings and a document with the, ’Caernarfonshire Conservative Registration Association Return of Marked Register for 1870 and 1871’. Also an account, ‘Sundry payments made by J Wyatt on account of the Honble E. G. Douglas Pennants Election 1841-3’.
