These entries range between the 21 September 1825 and 17 May 1837. Looking at the names included on the slips it is likely that this cheque book belonged to Lady Charlotte Douglas-Pennant as a payment matches to a receipt of £100 paid by Miss Charlotte and Elizabeth Douglas-Pennant to Mr Hunt for rent due in item 2/56/6. Also in a letter sent from Miss Charlotte Douglas to Edward Douglas Pennant on the 05th of February 1877 (item 2/56/4) she requests that a sum of £50 to be paid to Sarah Langridge for her mourning. Sarah Langridge a name that is written on many slips in this book. |
