TitleCopy probate of the will (27 June 1672) of Thomas Juxon
Description"second sonne of C. John Juxon", late of East Sheene in the parish of Mortlake, co. Surrey. Leaves his "Mantion" house and lands "inclosed with a pale" in E. Sheen to his nephew Thos. Juxon, during the life of testator's son Wm. Juxon, and after his death, to his heirs forever. Recites a feoffment, dated 6 October 1670, of his castles, houses and lands in co. Lymericke, whereby he settled the same on his said son, reserving to his daughter Elizabeth £100 p.a. for as long as she remained unmarried, and to himself the right to alter uses; he now limits and appoints the said castles, etc., to the said Elizabeth for their sale, 2/3 of the profits of which are to be to the use of his said son ("when he shall be cured of this melancholly distemper") and his heirs and in default of such heirs to his nephews Thos. and Geo. Juxon of London. Recites a lease and release to uses, dated 7-8 October 1670 of lands etc. in Depatricke and the Grange, cos. Meath and Queen's City in Ireland, limited to the use of his said daughter Elizabeth for life, thereafter to his said nephew, Thos. Juxon; and the "overplus" of rents and profits arising from the said lands he also leaves to Elizabeth, reserving therefrom an annuity of £300 to his wife. Other lands left to the said Elizabeth are to be sold, with one moiety of the proceeds to the use of the said Wm. Juxon's heirs in default of which ½ of the said moiety shall be paid to the children of his sister Sarah Byfield. Leaves to his wife 1/3 part "of what shall be recovered upon the Statute Staple" of £1,000 from Col. Thomas Cooke, defaulter on the bond; and all his plate and goods in Dublin. Leaves to his nephew Timothy Byfield his farm c. Barbaries in Danesbury, co. Essex. Enumerates many minor bequests (including 20 ozs of plat to his "niece Kenrick"). Provides for the erection of memorials to his parents-in-law in the church of Pentrige or Woodgates, co. Dorset, provided that certain lands descend to his children and their heirs; and to his father. Names his said daughter Elizabeth sole executrix and residuary legatee; and his said nephew Thos. Juxon overseer (with £20 p.a. "For his care and paines")
