DescriptionRecites a feoffment to uses dated 12 January 1707/8 concerning messuages or tenements in Hope Street, Wrexham, with an adjoining barn (now a meeting-place), and lands called Gwern Gethyn, Tyr y porth and ye old Acre in the parishes of Wrexham, Holt and Marchwiel; and devises by this will the said Tyr y porth to his second son Samuel Kenrick for life, thereafter to his eldest son Samuel and his heirs for ever. The other said lands he confirms to the use of his third son John Kenrick and his heirs for ever, but charges them with the sum of £200 for the payment of debts and legacies. Leaves to his eldest son Edward Kenrick 20s. ("he being already provided for"); to his said second son Samuel £5; to his said grandson Samuel £20, and to his grand-daughter Elizabeth (Samuel's sister) £10, these two latter sums to be paid at the commencement of the recipients' apprenticeships or the prior age of 18 years; to his sons Joseph and Daniel Kenrick £50 each to be paid at their majority; to his daughter Deborah Edwards £20, and to each of her children Daniel, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Deborah, £10 each on certain conditions; to his daughter Mary Jones 20s. (she having already had her share), and to each of her children John, Rebecca and Samuel, £5 each on certain conditions. Names his said son John Kenrick sole executor and residuary legatee; and his friends Thomas Robinson, joiner, and Hugh Roberts, corvisor, both of Wrexham, trustees and overseers.
